Casablanca and its irresistible rise

While his new footwear collaboration with New Balance has just been released in the form of the bold XC-72We offer you a close-up on Casablanca, the latest big sensation on the fashion planet. Launched only in 2018, the Franco-Moroccan House has not been slow to seduce with a singular style mixing sportswear and luxury, elegance and fantasy.

The creative tribute of Charaf Tajer

If Casablanca is young, its creator is very experienced. Charaf Tajer was indeed at the head of the streetwear brand Pigalle, which he co-founded with his lifelong friend Stéphane Ashpool.Charaf went solo in 2018 with Casablanca, a brand named after the Moroccan city where his parents met. Between Paris and Casa, Tajer manages to salute his roots through an original aesthetic that will earn him a spot as a finalist for the prestigious LVMH award in 2020.

A sunny "après-sport" style

Casablanca describes his designs as "post-sport". His wardrobe is both comfortable and elegant and mixes retro sportswear and luxury with a Mediterranean infusion embodied by materials evocative of beautiful days, bright colors and bold graphics. The terrycloth tracksuit is designated as its signature piece, but we note above all the recurrence of silk, particularly through shirts with flamboyant prints, kitsch or monograms. A festival of colors!

A successful footwear collaboration with New Balance

The Casablanca style has also found a footwear extension, thanks to a collab with New Balance. Between these two entities synonymous with retro sportswear, authenticity was the order of the day, and the creations are increasingly convincing. The two partners worked on new silhouettes, whose vintage aesthetic is carried by a running shape, a large central "N" and perforated leather. Casa's signature look is evident in vibrant colorways and bold design elements: the new XC-72 features a notched sole that extends over the forefoot. Originality again and again!
