Nike Dunk, an atypical history.
Before attacking this retrospective, let's take the time to review the history of the model. This one was designed by Peter Moore in 1985. It was born at the same time, or almost, another iconic sneaker of the American designer: the Air Jordan 1. The latter has somehow stolen the spotlight, in that the Dunk was intended for college basketball players, and not the legend of the Chicago Bulls who offered the AJ1 a naturally greater media exposure. That's why the Dunk was slow to cross the boundaries of sports. It owes its conversion to the street to skaters who were so numerous to adopt it that Nike ended up making it the emblem of its division ''Skateboarding'', aka SB, since its creation in 2002. The low profile version of the Dunk, the Dunk LowThe low version of the Dunk, the Dunk Low, experienced a meteoric rise that has doubled in intensity in the last year.
The best Nike Dunk of 2021.
One thing is certain: the successors of Peter Moore have been very productive! They have cooked the Dunk in all the sauces, giving us a multitude of novelties for men and women that we have quickly integrated into the store.
Simple yet effective colors.
The major asset of the Nike Dunk is certainly its retro design which, like that of the Air Force 1, has a huge potential for customization. It is not for nothing that it regularly reintegrates the Nike By You program. Thus, the designers of the equipment manufacturer have no difficulty in revisiting it, often in colors both simple and effective that embodies perfectly the Nike Dunk Low ''Black/Whitealso called ''Panda''. This combination of black and white still very popular at the time of writing this article has paved the way for many other two-tone variations that have met with resounding success thanks to their apparent simplicity. We think in particular of the editions ''Green Glowand ''Archeo Pinkwhich many sneaker lovers have made their priority for 2022. This is also the case of the Nike Dunk Low ''UNCa pair with the colors of the University of North Carolina.
An exceptional collaboration with Off-White.
Among the great artisans of the return of the Dunk is the late Virgil Abloh.
The founder and former artistic director of the Off-White label has once again splashed the fashion world with his talent by signing a collection of 50 Dunk with his inimitable unstructured style. Released on the SNKRS app last summer as exclusive accesses, the pairs were a hit with sneaker addicts who sometimes regretted not being able to choose their versions, or more precisely their batches. If this is your case, you should know that the most popular of them are available here, on Kikikickz, at prices in line with their quotation on the resale market. In our universe dedicated to the collaboration between Nike and Off-WhiteIn our universe dedicated to the collaboration between Nike and Off-White, you can find lots 23 and 24 alongside the iconic sneakers of Virgil Abloh, starting with the Jordan 4 ''Sail''. Don't hesitate to go and have a look at them.
Get some height with the Nike Dunk High!
So far, we haven't talked about the Nike Dunk High. And yet, it is with it that everything began in the early 1980s, on the field of the NCAA league teams. For the record, the silhouette was launched as part of a historic collection called "Be True To Your School". The collection included a total of 8 pairs in the colors of the major American universities. So it was only natural that the rising version of Peter Moore's classic would also get a little facelift in 2021. Fans of the genre were able to discover it in several remarkably soft color combinations, such as the Nike Dunk High ''Moon Fossil'' and the declination ''Midnight Navy''. But as for its low alternative, it is the Dunk High ''Panda which broke all sales records. You will find it on Kikikickz in a wide range of sizes for the whole family, and on special offer if you pass by during the sales.
What future for the Nike Dunk in 2022?
Although we are not guessing, we are absolutely certain that the firm of Beaverton will do everything to confirm the phenomenal success of the Dunk in 2022. We should therefore see the birth of new collaborations, including one with Union LA that looks particularly promising. We will also see the arrival of the Nike Dunk Low Disrupt 2 and a whole bunch of home-made colors that we will not fail to offer you in due course, as they are released.
